U.S. Army Veteran Medals... Nowhere in Sight

I've been waiting the last two weeks eagerly checking the mailbox -- waiting for my father's service medals to arrive. I requested them nearly a year ago. This morning, I decided to check on the status of this request and noticed that it changed from:

For Service Member: STEPHEN D BROWN

Status: Approval and processing completed at the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). Request is awaiting fulfillment by TACOM - ILSC - Clothing & Heraldry Product Support Integration Directorate in Philadelphia.

The approximate ship date is between 06/22/2010 and 07/22/2010.

If anything, our government consistently amazes me in its predictability of consistent failure, inefficiency, and disappointment. I suppose I should schedule a reminder to check in with them in about six months. This makes me a little sad.
